Canada is undoubtedly one of fly fishing’s greatest destinations. The rivers flowing through the densely forested wilderness of northern British Columbia boast some of the biggest runs of migratory fish found anywhere on the planet.
Steelhead, the powerful sea-run rainbow trout, is often considered the most prized species, but many species of Pacific salmon, including the giant Kings and the eager Silvers, run the rivers in their thousands, providing heart-stopping sport in the most awe-inspiring backcountry.
On Canada’s eastern side, the Atlantic salmon is king. Here salmon are found in crystal clear water and anglers are regularly presented with the opportunity for one of fly fishing’s greatest achievements - catching an Atlantic salmon on a dry fly.
